Convention Policies
These policies are here for the comfort and safety of our attendees and guests, to ensure a safe environment at Northern Anime Festival. All of these policies will be enforced.

General Policies
- For the safety of all our attendees, sitting on the floors or in the aisles is prohibited in any of the function rooms.
- Do not obstruct general traffic by standing or sitting in front of doorways and exits.
- The equipment in the rooms are for Northern Anime Festival staff or Panelist usage only. There are no exceptions to this policy.
- Food and drinks are allowed in all panel and video rooms. Please make sure you clean up after yourselves!
- Please do not distract others in panel or video by making noises or talking too loud.
- Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in any of the function spaces operated by Northern Anime Festival. If caught by convention security, you will be given a warning. If disruptive behavior persists you will be expelled from the convention.
- Northern Anime Festival is an alcohol free event. Serving and/or consumption of alcohol in any of our function space is prohibited.
- Proof of Age will be required to enter rooms showing to discuss adult content. No exceptions. Under age entrance is prohibited.
- In the event of a fire alarm, power failure, or any kind of evacuation, a staff member or a safety officer will announce instructions and direct attendees towards the proper exits.
Guest Policies
- Photography of the guests during panels, workshops, or performances, is solely at their discretion. If a guest denies permission for a photo or autograph, please respect that choice.
- Please do not stop guests in transit to another panel, workshop, or performance for an autograph or photograph. Autograph sessions will be available.
- To provide a fair environment for everyone, photographs and autographs are limited to one per person, per guest.
Exhibitor Hall Policies
- Please use appropriate entrances and exits into the Exhibitor Hall. Do not use the fire exits unless the fire alarm has been sounded.
- Do not obstruct traffic by stopping in the middle of an aisle to talk to someone, take a photo of a cosplayer, or any such action that would block moving traffic.
- It is Northern Anime Festival's policy that photography is allowed in the Exhibitor Hall for certain cases, such as taking a photo of a cosplayer. However, Vendors and Artists have the right to deny photography by their table(s).
Children Under 13
- An adult must accompany children under the age of thirteen at all times during the convention.
- We ask all guardians/parents to inform their child(ren) of our convention policies.
- We ask that all guardians/parents instruct their child(ren) to go to the registration desk if they become lost or separated.
Name Badges
- Your name badge is proof of your membership and must be worn and visible at all times.
- Badges will be required upon entrance to ALL events.
- Each event and/or room will have a Spec Ops member stationed there. They will request to see your badge every time you enter the room/event.
- Refusal to present a badge when requested will result in expulsion from the convention.
- Lost or stolen name badges will NOT be replaced.
Campus Policies
Smoking On Campus
- Durham College is a smoke free facility. Smoking is only permitted where the venue has posted signs outside.
Parking On Campus
- There is parking available on campus, but paid parking will be in effect. Lots are monitored by the city of Oshawa.

Security/Spec Ops
- There will be two forms of security that will be visible through out the day; Convention Spec Ops, and uniformed Campus Security.
- Convention Spec Ops will be wearing special nametags, or some other kind of identification.
- Convention Spec Ops will be aiding in crowd control, and making sure that convention policies are enforced.
- Campus Security, completely separate from our convention staff, will be wandering the function space to ensure that the campus policies are enforced, as well as to assist convention security if required.
